Training Systems Development Certificate Admissions (ELSIT)

Application Deadline

Applications are Fall semester admission are due May 1st.
(If the due date is on a holiday or weekend, then it is due the following business day)

Applications for Spring semester admission are due November 1st.
(If the due date is on a holiday or weekend, then it is due the following business day)


Program Requirements

  • Possession of a baccalaureate degree from a recognized institution
  • Applicants must have a 3.0 GPA in the last 60 semester units
  • Competency in computer skills at least to the level of basic multimedia authoring*
  • Basic multimedia competency as evidenced by a digital portfolio*

*Applicants who do not meet the requirements above will be asked to complete ITEC 715, Computer Foundations of Instructional Multimedia, with at least a grade of "B". If students are not computer literate, they may also be required to take a basic computer course.

Step 1: Application to Division of Graduate Studies 

You must first apply to the university through the Division of Graduate Studies. If you are a US resident follow the Domestic Students procedure. If you are a non-US resident follow the International Students procedure.

1. Apply to graduate study through SF State's online application system. The Office of Graduate Admissions no longer accepts paper applications to graduate programs.The application fee is 55.00 USD and we recommend that you pay online by credit card at the moment you submit your application.

 

2. Send the Division of Graduate Studies the following:

  • Official academic documents from every college or university ever attended.
  • $55.00 application fee by check or money order if you did not pay online by credit card. Please make check or money order payable to San Francisco State University.

Step 2: Application to Program Department

You must also apply directly to the Instructional Technologies Program in the Department of Equity, Leadership Studies and Instructional Technologies within the Graduate College of Education for this program.

Applicants to this program must submit the following:

  • ELSIT Department Application form
  • Two letters of reference from professors, employers, or other people you have worked with on a professional basis
  • One set of transcripts, copies are acceptable, from all colleges and universities attended including SFSU, both undergraduate and graduate
  • Statement of Purpose outlining the reasons for wanting to pursue the selected program

Step 3: Confirm Admission Status
