Improving Graduates Rates for African Americans

Eight CSU campuses, including SFSU, are among 52 four-year public universities succeeding at improving graduation rates and reducing achievement gaps for African American students, according to a report released March 24 by Education Trust, a national nonprofit aimed at promoting academic achievement, particularly for low-income and students of color.

The eight CSU campuses—San Diego, Chico, Pomona, Fullerton, Long Beach, San Francisco, San Jose and Northridge—achieved a combined 7.6 percent reduction in the achievement gap between white and black students from 2003 to 2013....
