MULTIPLE SUBJECT CREDENTIAL PROGRAM OPTIONS
At SFSU, we offer the following Program Options for earning the Multiple Subject Credential.
All program options are for Fall admission. The deadline to apply is February 1.
Options are subject to change. Applicants will be notified of any updated course offerings and schedules prior to admission. Currently all program options are designed for cohorts. Students will be admitted in groups of 20-25 and are expected to stay with their cohort in the prescribed program schedule throughout the program.
Student teaching takes place in public school classrooms, in and around San Francisco, fall and spring semesters.
THREE-SEMESTER PROGRAM – BILINGUAL OPTION
Candidates in the Bilingual Cross-cultural Language and Academic Development (BCLAD - Cantonese or Spanish) Emphasis follow the three-semester program. The Bilingual Education Emphasis is for those who are bilingual in Spanish or Cantonese and would like to teach in a bilingual environment. Candidates must pass a language proficiency exam at SF State. Student teaching takes place in bilingual public school classrooms, in and around San Francisco, during the three semesters.
*ITEC 601 - must be taken Summer or Semester 1 or Semester 2, before 3rd semester
This program is being piloted as an off-site program at an East Bay elementary school. It may continue to be an off site program in the future.
