Where is the Cahill Learning Resources and Media Lab?
The Cahill Learning Resources and Media Lab is located on the third floor of the Burk Hall building, room 319.
When is the Cahill Learning Resource and Media Lab Open?
The Cahill Lab is open Monday through Thursday from 1:00pm – 7:00pm & Friday 11:00am – 5:00pm. Occasionally, classes or planned group sessions may be conducted at the Cahill Lab. Dates/times of any reserved events will be posted on our doors, as patrons may be asked to move to another area. Alternate hours may also be posted on our doors for holidays, breaks, and finals week.
Can I print in the Cahill Learning Resources and Media Lab?
No, we do not offer any printing services in our Lab. We recommend the Student Center Computer Lab, T-143, for the nearest printing facility.
Can I study at the Cahill Lab?
Yes, the Cahill Lab is open to all students at SF State. The lab has desks and computers available for student to study. However, please keep in mind, the space is not intended as a quiet space. Patrons and staff are permitted to talk.
Can I checkout materials from the Cahill Lab?
Yes! Before you can borrow books, you must fill out the form on our “registration” page. You must fill out your first and last name, your SF State student ID number, and your email to register. Most materials at the lab are available to checkout for a week but not all. Consult with a Cahill Lab attendant for help. If you need to return your borrowed books and the lab is not open, there is a book depository in the hallway outside our doors.
How do I check out a GoPro Kit? For how long can a kit be borrowed?
To check out a GoPro camera kit:
- Request a GoPro camera kit reservation form from the Cahill Lab.
- Verify that you are on your professor’s class list, and if you are not, get his or her signature on the reservation form.
- A Cahill Lab attendant can provide you with a tutorial on how to use a kit upon request.
*A GoPro camera kit can be borrowed for up to ONE week.
